How the GSTIN Predictor Works
A GSTIN (Goods and Services Tax Identification Number) is a fixed 15-character code the GST portal assigns to every registered business. It isn't random — each character follows a set structure, which means the GSTIN a business will receive can be worked out before registration is even submitted.
The 15 characters break down as follows:
- Characters 1–2: the state code where the business is registered.
- Characters 3–12: the business or individual's 10-character PAN.
- Character 13: a registration count — it increases if the same PAN registers for GST more than once within the same state.
- Character 14: a default value ("Z") reserved for future use.
- Character 15: a check digit, calculated from the previous 14 characters using a checksum formula, which the portal uses to catch typos and invalid GSTINs.
This tool takes your state, PAN, and registration count, then runs the same checksum calculation the GST portal itself uses to work out that final character — giving you the complete 15-character GSTIN you can expect to receive.

Is this an official GSTIN lookup or verification tool?
No. This tool predicts the GSTIN format your PAN is likely to receive, based on the same public structure and checksum method the GST portal uses. It doesn't check the GST portal's records and isn't affiliated with the Government of India or the GST Network (GSTN).
Why would I need to predict my GSTIN before registering?
Businesses often need to share their expected GSTIN with vendors, clients, or on paperwork (like draft invoices or contracts) before registration is approved. This gives you that number in advance, based on your PAN.
What is the "Registration Number" field for?
Most PANs register for GST only once per state, so this stays at 1. It only increases if the same PAN holder registers for GST more than once in the same state — for example, separate registrations for separate business verticals.
Is the predicted GSTIN guaranteed to be accurate?
The state code, PAN, and check digit portions follow a fixed, verifiable formula, so those are reliable. The registration number (13th character) depends on how many times your PAN has already registered in that state, which this tool can't independently confirm — so it's worth treating that one character as a best estimate.
